There are only twelve traditional Jyotirlinga shrines in India mentioned in the Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva temples named as Jageshwar Temple Uttarakhand, Aundha Nagnath Temple Maharashtra, Ghushmeshwar Temple Rajasthan and Vaijnath Temple, Parali in Maharashtra are also considered to be one of the Jyotirlinga. Jageshwar Temple of Uttarakhand state is believed to carry the Nagesh Jyotirlinga dedicated to Shiva, in the Jataganga river valley near a Deodar forest in Almora district. Jageshwar Mahadev,Dandeshwar Shiva and Mahamritunjaya Mahadev are few more Lord Shiva temple in the Jageshwar temple complex.
