Amarkantak also known as  the king of pilgrimages is the hidden treasure of central India, located in Anuppur District in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Amarkantak region is the meeting point of the two great Vindhyas and the Satpuras mountain ranges, with the Maikal Hills being the fulcrum.

Narmada-Maa
The place of origin of Narmada River is an open pool known as Narmadakund is surrounded by number of temples such as Narmada and Shiva temple, Kartikey temple and Shri Ram Janki temple.

Kapil-dhara

This region is known for unique natural heritage , very rich biodiversity and number of places of scenic beauty. The Kapildhara waterfall with a fall of about hundred feet is one of the major attraction of the region.

Amareshwar-Shivling
The Amareshwar Shivling is one of the biggest Shiva linga in India, located 10 km from the Amarkantak.
Narmadeshwar-shivaling
The Narmadeshwar Shivling  are only found in one place on the entire planet, on the banks of the Narmadaa river.

Narmadakund and Sonemuda are the place of origin of Narmada River and Sone River,There are number of temples situated around the kund.

Macaque and Langur are the two species of monkey found in the dense forest of Amarkantak. Keep distance from these monkey is the good idea for safe travel.

Anuppur is the railway station and best place to start your journey toward the Amarkantak, Anuppur can be easily reach reach from Jabalpur(218 km) or Bilaspur(188 km) via train, bus of taxi.
