11 Longest Elevated Expressway in Major Indian Cities

Most of the major Indian cities have become home to some of the best flyovers and Elevated Expressway in the world. These amazing structure of long flyovers have taken Indian road network to a different level of excellence. Chennai and Delhi are considered as the city of flyovers while other metro cities are on their way do so. List of other longest flyover’s to build in different cities of India are Gurgaon’s longest flyover,India’s longest Elevated highway in Patna, Asia’s longest flyover bridge near I.S.B.T New Delhi and West Bengal is going to get the longest Elevated flyover on earth. Chennai elevated Maduravoyal Expressway will be longest elevated expressway in India with total length of 19 km and there is one elevated expressway in Bangalore known as Nelamangala-Bangalore Expressway and one 3.2 km long Hebbal-Yelahanka Elevated Expressway is under construction.

The PVNR Flyover is a a 11.6 km Elevated freeway connecting the International Airport of Hyderabad  with the city at Mehdipatnam area. PVNR Flyover is the India’s longest flyover so far and has been constructed by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority at Amargarh Junction on Hyderabad-Bangalore National highway NH-7. The longest elevated flyover of India provides faster and safer access to the destination.

Hosur Road Elevated Expressway-Bangalore

The 10-km elevated highway is the longest in Bangalore and the second longest in the entire country. The Electronics City’s Hosur Road Flyover is the elevated tollway with four lanes, two in direction and metal dividers features. The longest flyover in Bangalore cuts a good amount of travel time,other big flyovers of city are hebbal flyover and Mysore road flyover.

East Coast Elevated Expressway-Chennai

The Elevated Expressway is 9.7 kilometers long elevated expressway under construction in the city of Chennai, The longest flyover of city.This freeway will run along with the coast of Bay of Bengal and will pass the western side of famous Broken bridge, Chennai. The interchange end after crossing 3 lane dual elevated highway at Mehrauli Junction, up and down ramp near Delhi border. The much-awaited Badarpur flyover is solve the problem of traffic jams at the congested Badarpur border.s. Delhi is well known for best flyovers in the country some of them are Dhaula Kuan flyover which is the largest over bridge in Delhi, followed by AIIMS Flyover and Anandmoyeee Marg flyover, the longest integral flyover in the country.

The Lalbaug Elevated Expressway is the longest flyover of the dream city of India,Mumbai. The four-lane flyover at Hindmata junction is 2.48-km long and developed by MMRDA Mumbai has number of flyovers across the city along with sky-walks flyover bridges, Express Highway and super tall skyscrapers.

The AJC Bose road flyover is 3 km in length and one of the most important and longest flyover in Kolkata. The longest flyover of Kolkata connects park circus with race course. The second flyover of Calcutta is one of the most important flyovers on the longest road of Kolkata. A 10km long flyover is proposed and it will be the longest flyover in Kolkata as well as in the world. Kolkata also host third longest cantilever bridge Howrah Bridge and longest cable-stayed bridge Vidyasagar Setu.

Yamuna Elevated Expressway-Noida

The amazing Yamuna Expressway is a six-lane, access-controlled expressway connecting Delhi-Noida-Greater Noida with Agra.
