For the third time Hyderabad and Pune have ranked higher on the chart of best Indian city with the best quality of living followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi. Hyderabad has ranked as first Indian city with the best quality of living in 2017. The capital city of nizams, situated on hilly terrain around artificial lakes has been ranked 144th in the global ranking.
Pune has emerged as second best Indian city with best quality of living. The city also known as cultural capital of Maharashtra and emerged as a major educational hub in recent decades.
Bengaluru bags third spot in India’s best cities to live and work in 2017 and has global ranking of 146 according to Mercer’s quality of living rankings in year 2017. The Silicon Valley of India is also the second fastest growing major metropolis in India.
Chennai is the biggest cultural and economic hub in South India, also rated the safest city in India to live. The primary port city of south India ranked 43rd most visited city in the world and also among the most visited Indian cities by foreign tourists.
Mumbai named an alpha world city and has the highest GDP of any city in India. The wealthiest city of India with the highest GDP also has highest number of billionaires and millionaires in the country.
Kolkata or Calcutta hosts highest number of monuments of national importance and third most productive metropolitan area in India. The city also has well planned township and satellite urban cities like Salt Lake City and Rajghat.
New Delhi ranked 7th place in the list of best quality of living in India and ranked 161st in the global ranking of Mercer’s. The National Capital Region is the largest commercial city in northern India and will be developed as a smart city.
Surat city was former princely state famous for its food, textile and diamonds. The city ranked 3rd cleanest city of India,4th fastest growing city of the world, selected as the first smart IT city in India, to be developed as a smart city and was awarded best city by the Annual Survey of India.
Chandigarh is an early planned city of modern India and known for its architecture and urban design. The Chandigarh Mohali and Panchkula region are one of the well planned township and among the fasted growing cities of India.
Gandhinagar is the very first planned city of Gujarat and also the state capital. The green city with near by Ahmedabad and Surat has been selected for smart city mission. The new city of Gandhinagar will be linked with Ahmedabad.
