India is now the second largest mobile manufacturing country in the world after China and domestic production of mobiles is set to hit 270 million in this year. The ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Central government offers a great opportunity for India to produce mobile phones.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh emerged as a significant hub for mobile phone manufacturing, with several companies setting up their production units in cities like Noida and Greater Noida.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu has a long history of electronics manufacturing and is home to many mobile phone manufacturing facilities, particularly in and around Chennai.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh has also attracted investments in the mobile manufacturing sector, with companies like Foxconn and others establishing facilities in the state.

Telangana

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, has seen the establishment of several mobile phone manufacturing units, contributing to the state’s position in mobile production.

Karnataka

Karnataka, especially Bengaluru and its surrounding areas, has become a hub for technology-related industries, including mobile phone manufacturing. Companies like Samsung have set up manufacturing units in the state.
