5 Indian States With Highest Number of National Parks

The natural beauty of Indian national parks and wildlife sanctuaries attracts thousands of wildlife lover and tourists every year, especially during the summer season. As of my last update, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has the maximum number of National Parks 9 along with Madhya Pradesh, Here is the top five Indian states with the highest number of national parks.

Madhya Pradesh – 9 National Parks

Madhya Pradesh is often referred to as the “Tiger State” and boasts a significant number of national parks, including Kanha National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Pench National Park, Satpura National Park, and Panna National Park, among others.

Assam7 National Parks

Assam is rich in biodiversity, particularly in its forested regions. It is home to Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Nameri National Park, Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, and Orang National Park.

Uttarakhand7 National Parks

Uttarakhand is known for its diverse range of flora and fauna and is home to several important national parks, including Jim Corbett National Park, Rajaji National Park, Valley of Flowers National Park, Nanda Devi National Park, and Gangotri National Park.

Kerala – 6 National Parks

The state of Kerala boasts a diverse range of habitats, including tropical forests, grasslands, and coastal areas. Some of the notable national parks in Kerala are Periyar National Park, Silent Valley National Park and Eravikulam National Park.

Karnataka – 5 National Parks

Karnataka boasts a diverse range of habitats, including tropical forests, grasslands, and coastal areas. Some of the notable national parks in Karnataka are Bandipur National Park, Nagarhole National Park, Bannerghatta National Park, Anshi National Park, and Kudremukh National Park.

Please note that the number of national parks and their rankings may vary based on updates, and other states such as Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu also have significant biodiversity and host several national parks.

Hemis National Park of Ladakh is the Largest National Park of India, famous for Snow Leopards.

Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve is the largest Tiger Reserve in India.
