Kanha or Bandhavgarh – Best Tiger Sighting

Both the National Parks offer very good opportunities for tiger sighting and excellent landscapes. Kanha is much denser as compared to Bandhavgarh but the scenic tall sal trees, meadows and grasslands offers best of nature, while Bandhavgarh do offers the same scenic landscapes with high tiger density per square km.

Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is the largest parks in Madhya Pradesh and considered as the best among the many tiger reserves of India. The park host significant population of Bengal tiger, gaur, Indian wild dog and barasingha and Indian leopards.

Kanha Tiger Reserve is home to largest population of barasingha, Its meadows and grasslands listed it among the top 10 famous places to visit in India for tourists.

Jabalpur is the center spot for both the national parks, located at a distance of 175 km from Kanha and approx. 180 km from Bandhavgarh.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh is better than Kanha National Park with higher probability of spotting a Bengal tiger. There are three main zones in Bandhavgarh, named as Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli plus couple of buffer zones.

This park has a large biodiversity and known for highest density of the tiger population and large breeding population of leopards, sambar deer, spotted deer and Indian bison were reintroduced from Kanha National Park.

Our recommendation is Bandhavgarh, which is less crowded, much peaceful and offers rich wilderness. Please enjoy the nature and every wild animals, birds you see with closer experience to the wilderness.
