10 Routes of Double Decker Super Fast Express Trains in India

Double-decker AC trains have been introduced in India,The first super fast air-conditioned Double Decker between Ahmedabad-Mumbai in 2012, followed by Howrah – Dhanbad Double Decker Express and Chennai – Bangalore Double Decker Express.

Super fast Double Decker trains are equipped with modern amenities and its coaches have some very special features for comfortable traveling with a seating capacity for around 1,500 passengers.

Ahmedabad – Mumbai Central

The first superfast air-conditioned Double Decker between Ahmedabad-Mumbai express train was flagged off on September 2012, that runs between Ahmedabad Junction and Mumbai Central.

Chennai – Bangalore

The Chennai – Bangalore AC Double Decker superfast express connect Chennai and Bangalore and the first AC Double Decker Express in South India.

Howrah – Dhanbad

The Howrah – Dhanbad Double Decker Express superfast train connects Kolkata, capital of West Bengal and Dhanbad in Jharkhand. Howrah – Dhanbad Double Decker Express train comprises five AC Double Deck Chair Cars and two End-On-Generation Vans.

Mumbai – Surat

Flying Ranee is a super fast double decker express train that runs between Mumbai and Surat in India.

Delhi – Jaipur

Jaipur Delhi Sarai Rohilla AC Double Decker Express runs between Jaipur Junction and Delhi Sarai Rohilla and covers the distance of 303 kilometers in 4 hours 30 mins .

Kacheguda – Guntur/Tirupati

Mumbai Central – Valsad

Mumbai Central  to Valsad fast passenger train runs between Mumbai Central and Valsad.

Mumbai – Goa

Mumbai  Goa AC Double Decker Express Train will run from from Karmalin in Goa to Lokmanya Tilak in Mumbai on Konkan railway. Mumbai  Goa route will also have India’s first double-decker Shatabdi train in India.

Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Madgaon AC Double Decker Express was first introduced on 7 December 2015 and also the first of its type to be introduced in India that covers the distance of 750 kilometres in 12 hours with maximum speed of 100 km/hr. 

Lucknow-New Delhi

Lucknow Junction – Anand Vihar Terminal Double Decker Express is the ninth double decker train in India that operates four days a week .

Indore – Bhopal
