    There’s more than a few far more historical places that should be on the list, but the list would get really long than top ten you intended 😀 however you may want to check and update the text under Taj mahal 😉
    Quick note on Taj Mahal – its a beautiful structure and there are quite a few interesting aspects to it just as a building. without going into the debate about its past, its also the most marketed building I would guess in the world. Also my grandmother says the walls of Taj Mahal was studded with precious stones, more precious than what are still seen – she talked about diamonds! – Imaging that puts a whole new meaning to the Taj’s beauty. She was born and grew up around the Taj mahal (she calls it by a different name-thats another story)

    But wonder why Tirumala was left off? lots of other significant history behind it.
