Golden Temple and Wagah Border of Amritsar in 2 Days

Golden Temple is the spiritual and cultural centre for the Sikh religion in India and home to the Harmandir Sahib or Golden Temple. The city is also known for its rich culture,cuisine and the Akal Takht, the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa.

Day 1

Early morning, Taka holy dip in Golden temple pond and do the darshan.

Visit the Sri Harmandir Sahib or Golden Temple, the holiest Gurdwara of Sikhism. It will around two hours for darshan and then have lunch at Guru Ka Langar in one of India’s Mega Kitchen at Golden Temple Amritsar.

Visit the Jallianwala Bagh which houses a memorial of national importance, located in the vicinity of Golden Temple complex.

Wagah Border

Reach Wagah Border before 2:30, 1 hour drive 32 kilometres from Amritsar to experience the Beating the Retreat ceremony. The flag ceremony is a daily military practice between the two nation.

Day 2

Next day you may visit Durgiana Temple, Bazars and can take a heritage walk.

Mata Lal Ji Devi Temple

Mata Lal Ji Devi Temple has similar structure of popular Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and known for full of miraculous powers. You can visited the mata lal devi mandir on the way back to Amritsar from wagah border.

Durgiana Temple

Durgiana Temple is a Hindu temple and very similar to the Golden Temple architecture, situated in the city of Amritsar. The temple is situated near the Lohgarh gate and built in the middle of a sacred lake.

Heritage Walk

You can go for Heritage Walk in Amritsar to know more about cultural activities in the city and cuisine. Gobindgarh Fort,Gardens and Gates are the prime attractions of Amritsar.
