Grapes are an important fruit crop in India, and several states are known for their grape production. The top five grape-producing states in India, as of my last knowledge update in 2022 are:
Maharashtra is the leading grape-producing state in India, with regions like Nashik, Sangli, and Solapur being significant grape-growing areas. Nashik, in particular, is famous for its high-quality grapes.
Karnataka is another major grape-producing state, with districts like Bijapur, Bagalkot, and Gulbarga known for grape cultivation.
Andhra Pradesh is a significant grape producer, especially in the districts of Anantapur and Chittoor. well known varieties of grapes grown in India are Tas-A-Ganesh, Gulabi, Perlette, Bhokri, Shared Seedless, Dilkhush and Bangalore Blue Grapes.
Tamil Nadu is known for its grape production, with regions like Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri being prominent grape-growing areas.
The Mizo Hills is an ideal place for grapes gowning and the well known Hnahlan village of the state is the largest grapes producer village of India.
