It is priced too high even for a middle class household. That should have been their target. Exclusivity doesn’t really work for a train that much when you can do it by road or on foot. Works for ships, not trains.
But an interesting post since I wasn’t aware of these.

these trains are pretty expensive.
i wish the normal trains were safer and cleaner. even the AC1 class in the normal trains is not very impressive (by foreign standards, sorry).
like… these trains in the post are almost too good, while the AC1 class in normal trains is not good enough.

Back in the day we traveled mostly in private coaches allotted to Dad. Part of his many perks through his job. Just memorable and unique stuff to exotic destinations! Other times with friends, cousins and others we traveled on the Deccan Queen, Blue Mountain Express and others. Usually trips taken over summer school break and were in chair cars with vestibules that ran the whole length of the formation. Madras-Delhi was 2days/2nights but never monotonous.
