5 Longest Bridges Over Hooghly River in West Bengal

The Hooghly River also called Ganga is basically a distributary of the Ganga river in West Bengal and also Hoogly river is known as the most betrayer river because of changing its path. Hooghly River splits from the Ganges as a canal at the Farakka Barrage and Farakka Barrage supplies the Hooghly with adequate water. There are 5 bridges has been build over the river and different location, other Bridges in West Bengal are Farakka Barrage over Ganges river and Coronation Bridge across the Teesta River.

Vivekananda Setu also called as Bally Bridge is a multispan steel bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal, links the city of Howrah with twin city of Kolkata. The famous Dakshineswar Temple is situated on the banks of the Hooghly River near Vivekananda Setu.
