India’s First 20 Urban Areas That Will be Developed as Smart Cities

Today the Government releases list of 20 smart cities with the investment of Rs 50,802 crores. Out of the proposals of 97 cities from state governments, the urban development ministry has selected only 20 as of now, The list contains five capital cities among the smart cities. PM Narendra ModiJi flagship Smart Cities Mission has been selected the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart cities.

1. Bhubaneswar, Odisha


Bhubaneswar also known as temple city of India is the largest city in Odisha state and one of modern India’s first planned cities. This planned city is emerging as information technology and education hub and ranked as the best place to do business in India.

2. Pune, Maharashtra


Pune is the second largest city of Maharashtra and was once the center of the Maratha Empire. The city of Pune is also considered as the cultural capital of state and known as one of the IT hub of India. The city of is considered as the cultural capital of Maharashtra and emerging as IT Hub and Hosts big automotive companies.
